Practice Facilities

The designated practice areas at Te Marua Golf Club are:

  • The nets behind the cart shed
  • The putting green outside the shop, and the adjacent small chipping green
  • The practice fairway, which starts down by the Women's 10th Tee and runs down to the green at the south end of that zone
  • The chipping green and bunker on the east side of the 18th green and, for LONG APPROACH SHOTS, practice to that green, from between the gum and pine trees over by the main entrance to the Golf Course (i.e. Play ACROSS the 14th fairway)
Provided there is no infringement of The Rules relating to practice on the course on the day of a competition, then playing a practice round or a few holes on the course proper is quite OK. After all, that's why we belong to the Te Marua Golf Club - so that we can utilise the available facilities !

But all of us must remember - and adhere to - the rules of etiquette, all factors of which apply as equally to practice sessions and facilities as they do to a regulation round of golf and the course proper.
