2012 Interclub

Interclub tournaments are a great way to meet players from other clubs and test your skills in a match play format. You also get to play at other clubs without having to pay green fees or for reduced fees. Interclub play is good fun and we encourage members to enlist and give it a go.

We have men, women, and junior interclub teams. Our teams compete strongly throughout the year, and proudly wear the Te Marua colours.

Evergreens - Te Marua members participate in the annual Evergreens competition against other clubs in the region including Waikanae, Kapiti, Ohariu Valley, Wainuiomata, Manor Park and Trentham. Clubs enters a ten man team and the format is match play for both singles and doubles. Each team plays each other team on an away course with the team whose course is being used having a bye and acting as host for the day.

Veterans - Te Marua also has a group of 55 year old plus players participating in the Wellington Veteran Golf Society. Fixtures are set on average each fortnight throughout the year and are held at all courses in the Hutt Valley, some on the Kapiti Coast and Miramar and Karori. Each year in February during one week there is a four day match play tournament. This is usually played Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri, with Wed as a rest day. A dinner and prize giving is held on the final Friday. All fixtures are well attended and concessionary rates are paid for green fees.

Mashie - The Mashie team is a handicap interclub series for players with handicap indexes over 15.7 They play against 5 other clubs over a 10 round series with games approx every three weeks. They play a singles match and a fourball match at the same time. There is also an individual stableford competition on the day. All teams compete at the same venue for each round and with 60 players at one course. It is a very social grade.

2012 Captain -Dave Anderson

Juniors

Junior Pennants - The Junior Pennants team play a normal stableford round, with the winner decided by adding the teams stableford points together. The team finished second overall in 2010, which was a very good result.
In 2011 the team finished 3rd but had two bye rounds. No adjustment to the scores was made to allow for this. Had they been given the average score for the extra bye round the team would have finished second. Well done guys.
